Literacy starts with One Word.
One Word Reading Initiative is dedicated to ensuring children from vulnerable communities across the country have high-quality and culturally relevant books to call their own.
Our Impact
What We Do
One Word provides vulnerable children and their families with free high-quality books and reading resources to help build their own home libraries. Children choose their own books from a variety of curated and culturally diverse stories.
We aim to improve literacy, inspire a habit of reading, and foster critical thinking and social-emotional skills that are key to navigating a complex world. We also offer family members easy-to-use resources to help children become stronger readers.
